✨ How LitLoot Came to Be

LitLoot didn't start as a business idea.

It started as a need… and a small spark of something just for me.

I'm Amanda — a mum of six, and while that's a beautiful, full life, it also comes with its challenges. Some of my children have additional needs, which means being present at home isn't just important — it's essential. But like many parents, I found myself in a space where I needed something that was mine too. Something that gave me purpose outside of being "mum," while still allowing me to be exactly where I'm needed most.

I needed a way to work… but I also needed a way to find myself again.

And for me, that's always been books.

Reading has been my escape for as long as I can remember — especially fantasy. There's something so special about stepping into another world, even if it's just for a few quiet moments in between the chaos of everyday life. Books have always been my comfort, my reset, and my little piece of magic.

But I've also always loved creating. Making things feel beautiful. Thoughtful. Special.

So somewhere between late nights, busy days, and stolen reading moments… LitLoot was born.

✨ More Than a Book Box

I wanted to create more than just a book box. I wanted to create an experience — something that felt like opening a gift, even if it was just for yourself. A chance to slow down, get cosy, and fall into a story with a few little extras that make it feel even more magical.

LitLoot became my way of blending everything I love:

Every box I put together is packed with care, intention, and a whole lot of heart — because I know what it means to need those small moments of escape.

LitLoot is proudly Australian-made and Australian-hearted. Many of the beautiful products you'll find in our boxes are lovingly sourced from local Australian small businesses — because supporting our community matters just as much as the magic we create together.

💛 Still Growing

LitLoot is still growing, and so am I. But this little business has already given me something so important: a way to be present for my family, while also building something that's truly mine.

And that means everything.
